The new streptococcus B Ag test is a screening test for use in the detection of streptococcus B in vaginal fluid specimens. Group B streptococci (GBS) or streptococcus agalactiae are among the most frequent causes of life-threatening infectious in neonates. As standard methods require 24 to 48 hours incubation, reliable rapid tests are an utmost convenient alternative for diagnosis for the POC use.
